Chichester District Council announced that more than one million coffee pods have been recycled since the start of the Podback trial.

Kerbside collections started in July 2021 and the council thanked residents for making it such a success.

The scheme was launched in, collaboration with Podback, to try and make it easy for residents to recycle their used pods.

The trial covers around 75% of household in the Chichester district. Following the achievement of such a milestone, the council announced that it is reviewing its collection round with the aim of increasing the availability of its service.

A wide range of different coffee, hot chocolate and tea drink pods are collected as part of the service.

Aluminium and plastic pods from the following brands are all recyclable: Nespresso, Nescafé Dolce Gusto, Starbucks by Nespresso, Starbucks by Nescafé Dolce Gusto, Tassimo, L’OR, CruKafe, Artisan Coffee Co, Allpress Espresso, Colonna Coffee and Café Palmieri by Jomad Coffee.
