In a guest article for The Metal Packager, Mike MacKay, co-owner and managing director of Despray Environment aerosol recycling technology, argues that a different set of ideas is needed to drive a climate-neutral and circular economy.  He examines the approach taken by the European Commission in its revision of the EU rules on packaging and packaging waste, which has prompted over 60 associations from the packaging value chain to voice concern on the issue.

As an ardent advocate for a 100% aerosol recycling rate, MacKay writes: “As an industry, we must play our role in our planet’s future. Aerosols can be recycled safely and efficiently and support a 100% circular economy.”
