About the Job

You will be responsible for support, installation, and maintenance of a wide range of speciality sensors, controls, and gauging in can and end manufacturing plants. When not travelling, you will be working from Sencon’s facility in Bedford Park, Illinois, providing technical support and assistance to customers and colleagues.

Candidates should be aware that there is extensive travel in this role and you should be comfortable away from home 60% of the time on an annual basis. Most trips are planned and are typically 4-6 days in duration. Occasionally, breakdowns may need to be attended at short notice.

About the Person

Enthusiastic and quick thinking, you will possess good all-round troubleshooting and technical skills, ideally backed with an accredited 2+ year technical qualification. A thorough knowledge of computers and electro-mechanical disciplines are needed to work on machinery operating in high-volume manufacturing environments.  

Analytical with an enquiring mind, you will be constantly striving to make improvements and learn about products and their technologies in order to provide excellent customer service to plant engineers and quality control personnel in a professional and helpful manner.

You will be highly organised and work with a great degree of common sense. You must have good communication skills and be comfortable with worldwide travel. Experience travelling and/or working in a similar environment is beneficial.

We manufacture a range of sensors, specialised controls, and in-process monitoring systems. Our sister company in the UK specialises in automated quality control gauges. These products apply a wide range of technologies including machine vision, interferometers, inductive, and optical sensing. Combined, we have a portfolio of 100+ products we sell worldwide.
