AB InBev to expand Telangana facility
Global brewing giant AB InBev has announced plans to enlarge its brewery operations in the Indian state of Telangana, highlighting India’s importance as a growing market for beer makers.
The news came after discussions between representatives of the Telangana government, led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, and senior executives from AB InBev at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
The expansion will take place at the company’s existing facility in the state and is intended to meet rising local demand while improving supply efficiency.
Although specific investment figures and the amount of added capacity were not released, the move reflects AB InBev’s strategy of strengthening its production capabilities in key international markets.
Telangana’s leaders welcomed the development as part of the state’s broader efforts to attract multinational food and beverage manufacturers, pointing to its infrastructure, business environment, and access to customers as key advantages.
Officials also noted that the project could boost jobs and cement Telangana’s status as a brewing hub in India.
For AB InBev, which already has several breweries across India, this project demonstrates continued faith in the country’s long-term potential, even amid regulatory and state-level market challenges.
Industry experts say such capacity increases are increasingly focused on expanding existing operations rather than building new sites from scratch.
