Tesco recalls dog food after plastic found in some cans
Tesco has issued a product recall for a batch of Lily’s Kitchen Pasta al Ragu with Beef, Oregano & Basil dog food after small pieces of plastic were discovered in some cans, the supermarket confirmed in an official recall notice.
The recall affects 400g tins of the premium pet food with batch code 5212T9097F and can numbers from 27018 to 50268, carrying a best before date of 31 July 2027.
Shoppers who have bought tins from this specific batch are urged not to feed them to their pets and to contact Lily’s Kitchen or return the product to the place of purchase for a refund.
A spokesperson for Lily’s Kitchen, the UK-based natural pet food brand now owned by Nestlé Purina PetCare, said the issue had been isolated and resolved, and that no other products are affected by the recall. Customers were offered “heartfelt apologies” for the inconvenience.
The recall notice has also been listed on Tesco’s dedicated product recall page alongside other recent alerts, including recall information for infant formula and selected pâté products.
