VMI Group has secured the highest distinction in corporate sustainability, earning the EcoVadis Platinum Medal and positioning the equipment manufacturer in the top 1% of assessed companies globally.

The achievement marks a swift ascent for the firm, which held a Gold rating in 2025 and Silver prior to that. The EcoVadis assessment evaluates companies across four core pillars: environmental stewardship, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.

Speaking on the milestone, Harm Voortman, President and CEO of VMI Group, praised the collective effort behind the award while framing it as part of a longer operational roadmap.

“Receiving the EcoVadis Platinum Medal is a proud milestone for VMI and we share this medal with all our employees around the world,” said Voortman. “This recognition reflects the progress we have made in integrating sustainability into every aspect of our business. From designing more sustainable machines together with our customers to working closely with our suppliers, we continue to improve the sustainability of both our products and our operations.”

He added: “While we are proud to have progressed from Silver to Gold and now Platinum, we see this as a milestone in our journey to build a sustainable future.”

Operational Drivers Behind the Upgrade

VMI’s jump to Platinum status follows a period of targeted internal initiatives aimed at embedding ESG performance across its global operations. Central to this strategy has been the rollout of its group-wide “We green it together” programme, designed to push localised sustainability targets down to team-level operations.

The score upgrade also coincides with the release of the company’s 2025 Sustainability Report and the implementation of its Sustainability Manifesto, which sets out long-term decarbonisation and efficiency benchmarks for both its machinery manufacturing processes and its supply chain partner network.
