AGI Greenpac unveils AGI Cann beverage can business
India-based AGI Greenpac has unveiled AGI Cann, its new aluminium beverage can business, at the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show in India.
The event, held from 25–29 September, marked the business’s public debut, with AGI Cann showcasing its aluminium can range and meeting beverage brand owners and potential partners.
The move expands AGI Greenpac’s packaging portfolio, which already includes glass containers, PET bottles and caps and closures.
AGI Greenpac is investing ₹1,000 crore in an aluminium beverage can manufacturing plant in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh. According to the company, the two-line facility is expected to begin operations in the first half of 2027, with annual manufacturing capacity of 1.6 billion cans. Initial production is projected at 1.3 billion cans a year.
The 34-acre facility will manufacture standard, sleek and slim cans for categories including carbonated soft drinks, beer, energy drinks and ready-to-drink beverages. AGI says capacity could subsequently be increased to more than 2 billion cans annually through upgrades and debottlenecking.
