Ardagh customer Gatão win award for can design


Ardagh customer Gatão recently won the Package Design award at the 2021 International Canned Wine Competition for its distinctive ‘can with a cat’ design.

The third edition of the International Canned Wine Competition took place last July, in the United States of America, and the results have now been announced.

Ardagh posted on Linkedin: “We were thrilled to partner with them and provide the 250ml aluminium can for this cool and contemporary design. 

“Congratulations to designer Atelier Rita Rivotti for this major design win.”

Ana Montenegro, communications and public relations manager of Portuguese winery Sociedade dos Vinhos Borge, said: “Gatão is attitude, character, fun and authenticity, and the can’s packaging reflects that! 

“We follow our instinct in order to arrive at an image with strong impact, attractive, appealing, always preserving the graphic heritage of the entire line and brand, and always keeping in mind the target of this new format, as well as the style of wine: young and fresh.

“We launched this new concept in March and it has been a great success nationally and internationally. Being distinguished with this award is, without a doubt, another vote of confidence and an achievement abroad that the whole team is very proud of.”
