BAMA announces retirement of Paul Jackson and names Nicola Jones as Regulatory Manager
The British Aerosol Manufacturers’ Association (BAMA) has announced the upcoming retirement of Regulatory Director Dr Paul Jackson, alongside the appointment of his successor, Nicola Jones.
Jackson will step down from his role in December this year following a three-month handover period with Jones, who officially takes up the position in September.
Commenting on the transition, BAMA Chief Executive Patrick Heskins said: “During his nearly 30-year career with BAMA, Paul has not only made an immense contribution to the association, but to the aerosol industry as a whole. The team at BAMA wish him all the very best for his well-earned next chapter.”
Jones joins the association after a 27-year tenure at Tata Steel UK. In her most recent role, she spearheaded market and business development across all sectors, aligning products with sustainability and recycling principles, driving value propositions from concept to commercialisation, and representing the business at major European conferences.
Throughout her career, Jones has played an active role in shaping industry policy. Her experience includes serving on the Advisory Committee for Packaging, chairing the MPMA PR Committee, and sitting on the Sustainability Working Group for Steel for Packaging Europe. She has also collected several industry accolades, including ‘Global Recycling Champion’ and UK Packaging’s ‘Woman of the Year 2024’.
Speaking on her appointment, Jones said: “I am looking forward to starting this new era in my career and adding measurable value to the work BAMA does. Having been actively involved with trade associations, it’s a pleasure to be working with a flagship association, widely acknowledged for strengthening aerosol industry standards and working hard for a diverse membership base.
“Having known Paul professionally for over 20 years, it’s a privilege to be taking the reins from such a respected member of the aerosol community, and I extend my best wishes to him for his upcoming retirement.”
Heskins added: “We have every confidence that Nicola will lead her new role with purpose and commitment. Her proactive involvement in shaping industry policy and her in-depth knowledge of UK packaging regulations are superb assets to the association and our members.”
