Emballator invests in innovation centre

Emballator new innovation centre

Emballator wants to lead the sustainable innovations within packaging and help customers to reach their sustainability goals. One step in that direction is making further investments in its Emballator Innovation Center.

“Focus until now has been on materials for plastic injection moulding. With this new equipment we will evaluate new bio-based materials for extrusion of different packaging solutions”, says Mats Jeppsson, Innovation Manager at Emballator Innovation Center.

Reducing waste through re-use of packaging is important for the Emballator Group and many drop-in materials is making it possible to reduce carbon footprint. Top of the agenda for Emballator is to help customers to achieve their sustainability goals, that could be either light weighting, changing design or material.

“We keep strengthening our innovation culture. This new investment also helps us really pushing the limits of thin wall packaging by lightweight, still offering a product that resist tough handling from consumers and transports. We also know that brand owners in for example the food industry are increasingly looking to reduce dependency upon fossil-based packaging for a higher sustainability profile and we can help them”, says Mats Jeppsson.

Emballator focus on easy-to recycle materials with 100 percent circularity, but also to find cost efficient sustainable alternatives. Emballator believes that speed of change will increase when cost and environment go hand in hand and in that way create best possibilities for future generations.

More investments will come during 2021 at Emballator Innovation Centre to lead the sustainable innovations within packaging.
